Denver Public Schools Closings for Tuesday

Denver Public Schools released this latest update on school closings for Tuesday: All DPS Schools Closed Tuesday; District Offices Open.Due to severe weather conditions and below freezing temperatures, all DPS schools will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 1. This includes all Kaleidoscope Corner programs and all athletic activities, contests and practices.
In addition, all after-school activities and athletics are canceled for Monday, Jan. 31.
FOR ADMIN OFFICE EMPLOYEES:
On Tuesday, Feb. 1, we are currently planning that all DPS District Offices will be open. District Office staff who need to work from home due to child-care needs or commuting difficulties are asked to notify their managers.
Please continue to check email and the DPS website (http://communications.dpsk12.org) for any updates if weather conditions substantially worsen.
A funny fact: Staten Island Chuck, the impatient Groundhog from the Staten Island Zoo, bit New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg in 2009 as he tried to lure the woodchuck out of his burrow.

DFW Airport reopens, parts of Ark-La-Tex still without power
UNDATED (KSLA) – An ice storm briefly closed Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) Airport, but airport officials now report Tuesday that the runways are now back open and service is slowly returning to normal.
Officials encourage any travelers who had flights scheduled to or through Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport Tuesday there likely will be delays, so check ahead.
AEP SWEPCO also reports several parts of the Ark-La-Tex without power as of 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Most of the reported outages are in East Texas and Louisiana. Counties in East Texas reporting outages include; Wood County, Gregg County, Rusk County, Harrison County.
In Louisiana: Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish and Red River Parish.
Now AEP SWEPCO now reports outages in Hempstead County.

Kim Kardashian Upset About W Magazine Cover from October
Kim Kardashian appeared on the cover of W Magazine last October, and the photo leaves little to the imagination. Now, it comes out that Kardashian was upset over the photos. She said on her new E! reality show, Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Sunday night, that she was less than happy with the magazine.
She said about the Mark Seliger photos, “I was naked, but fully covered in silver paint. This artist will put images of architecture and buildings and stuff on top of me so you will see my body shape and the outline, but not actually my boobs or anything.”
Kim cried to her sister, Kourtney, “I’m more naked here than I was in my Playboy. I’m so f***ing mad right now.…She promised I would be covered with artwork.…This is serious porn…you can see nipple.” She added, “I’ve definitely learned my lesson.”
Her mom, Kris Jenner, eventually consoles her saying the cover was done artfully.
Kim told Ryan Seacrest later, “At the end of the day, they are gorgeous photos, and I’m glad I did it, and I love them. But at the time, I was shocked about how they weren’t how I thought they would be.”
